Individual Therapy
I use an integrated approach that draws on Mindfulness, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). I understand the problem from your perspective and together we collaborate on possible solutions. I offer 60- to 90-minute sessions. I am currently offering both in person and virtual sessions. My rate for this service is $220/60 minutes. I offer a generous sliding scale for individuals and family that are limited by finances.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Whether you are dealing with complex trauma as a result of a difficult childhood or a traumatic response based on a significant event, ART can help. ART uses eye movements to help people process emotion related to trauma. The theory behind ART is that the eye movements simulate the Rapid Eye Movements in REM sleep. Most people find relief after the first session. On average it takes 2-3 sessions to finish the protocol, often it is beneficial to have longer sessions. Trauma therapy is most conducive to in person sessions, however, we can arrange virtual sessions in extenuating circumstances. My rate for this service is $220/60 minutes. I offer a generous sliding scale for individuals and family that are limited by finances.
Couples Therapy
The quality of our primary relationships has been demonstrated to be the most important determinant of the level of happiness in people's lives. However, for many of us, our primary relationship is also our main source of stress. Unfortunately, many of us have not had the privilege of growing up with a healthy model of relationship and this gets in the way of developing the requisite skills. My approach is based on attachment science. I assume that people want to feel connected in their relationships, and that it is not a lack of love, but a lack of skill and unhelpful conditioning that gets in the way. I have training in Gottman, PACT, Emotion Focused Therapy and am an avid consumer of all things Esther Perel. With support, it doesn't have to be so hard. My rate for couples therapy is $220/60 minutes, however I can offer a sliding scale for families with financial barriers. I recommend booking at least 90 minutes per session.
Birth Preparation
As a certified childbirth educator, yoga teacher and experienced doula I offer integrated birth preparation. I have taught hundreds of families how to prepare for birth in a way that emphasizes preventing common challenges and hands-on support for birthing partners. I am trained in spinning babies. I utilize an integrated mind body approach to teach birthing partners how to create the environment that enables birth.
We can also explore the changing relational dynamic and how best to navigate the significant shifts in your roles as you begin your journey as new parents.

Postpartum Adjustment
Sadly, birth trauma and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders are common with an estimated prevalence of 15-20% of the population of new mothers. Having attended over 400 births, I am intimately familiar with how the experience of trauma or perinatal mental health disorders can impact women, their partners and their families. Trauma and other mood disorders can affect our identity as mothers and disrupt the bond with our baby. It casts a shadow over the relationships with our partners, other loved ones and most importantly, ourselves. You are not alone and you do not have to suffer. Trauma and mental health disorders are treatable conditions, with the evidence suggesting that a combination of therapy and medication has the most beneficial impact.
